Modem Cables

Thread Starter
The cable that connects my modem to the phone jack in the wall got ripped the other day when moving furniture. Anyone know what kind of cable this is and where I can buy one? Also what kind of cables do I need if I wanna install a phone jack.

if it's a 56k modem like i thing you're saying, any telephone cable will do. if it's a High-speed internet modem you'll need Coaxial cable like for ur TV...

It should be a regular phone line if you are using dialup.

If you are using DSL, then you will need a DSL line, which looks kind of like a phone line but it is perfectly round and the end connector is just a tad bit different in size.

Actually, the phone jack to DSL line is the same size as a regular phone cord, it just has 4-pins instead of the old standard of 2 for voice.
