One day my old Mobo blew up and i sent it in for repair and it got replaced (see specs). I use my old CD's that got with my Old mobo to install XP. Could this cause a significant decrease in performance?

meh. if it's the exact same board, np. but my rule of thumb is to not use the CDs unless absoloutly nessisary. get ur drivers off the site if u can.

in that case teh original discs won't work at all. you'll have to install windows on default driverss and get all of 'em off their site l8r. if the LAN driver isnt installed find another computer and DL 'em tehre then transfer via CD/floppy/USB flash drive...

usually w/ XP when u have a full chipset change you do need a fresh install. not to mention a new mobo is alwayts a good excuse to start freash for max performance....

you're using an actual windows XP CD, correct? if so then it will automatially load the basic drivers needed to get it running(should anyway). teh after ur in windows u can install teh drivers proper.
