P35 chipset whats your performance level?

Hey guys I was playing around and read up a little bit on performance level. Well didnt actually research it but did get the memset that allows you to change it.

With my ram running at 550mhz it sets a performance level of 6. I can change it to anything higher but lower will freeze it up. Performance does greatly change with a difference say going from 6 to 10.

What are your guyses set at and can you change it to set it to something different.
I attached the memset 3.3 beta2 which is working on most P35 ddr2 mobo's from feliz over at XS.

I should have tried this out last night. I honestly believe my memory was holding me back for hitting sub 11sec times on SuperPI. Do you know if this will work with DDR3 boards?

I think it should, if not go to XS in the intel section there is a thread that felix has where he continuously updates memset to work with new boards. They should have one that will work with your board.

Performance wise my setup I changed only the performance rating from 6 to 10 and went from roughly 13.091 to 13.890 and in everest memory bench (the first one) I went from about 9750 to 8560 or something like that.

I couldnt go any lower then 6 though with my ram at 550mhz. Dont know if it would be different at lower speeds.

Timings wise no not at the moment but I am sure itll get better. But ddr3 can get much faster with less voltage as compared to ddr2

I'll give it a try tomorrow and see what happens Max. Though I'm slightly confused as to where I can find this performance level option. Are you talking about the transaction booster? Or is this a setting within the program you are linking?

I'm at work right now so I can't look at the program right now.

Its something thats available thru memset with the P35 chipset. On some boards it may be in the bios I am not sure. Mine doesnt have it in the bios its automatically set by the motherboard.

I think this had been on previouse boards with different chipsets but was called something else, I cnat remember anymore. If you can run it lower it does boost performance though. There is more about it at XS but I didnt look into it too much.

OK so noone seems to know exactly what it is. Not liekly any thing to do with straps as there are way to many of them. Polygon over at rebels havens says someone uncovered it but wont let out where and how he did.
Anyways seems that it allways freezes up computers when trying to tighten it to the next level from what you boot at but you can go higher.

However higher settings cause a huge performance hit so thats not recommended.

My pc had been down until today Max I'm gonna play and post back.

Edit: I can't drop mine at all either. I'm just gonna let it sit at stock as well.

straight boot from bios.. didn't touch memset

try more vdimm, vmch, vfsb etc - above was at 2.45v, 1.55v and 1.40v respectively
