Will keeping a processor cooler extend it's life?

Will keeping a processor cooler significantly extend it's life? I would guess that it wouldn't significantly effect it... but I need an opinion from somebody smarter.

I say "yes" to some extent. An aftermarket cooler would put the CPU in a better range of good temps, unlike the Stock HSF. The Stock HSF would sometimes overheat your CPU.

All things equal, yes. Especially under higher voltage conditions.

But how long do you intend to keep the processor?

CPUs last 10+ years.... I rather stress it and get more performance for 3-5 years and just replace it.
Once again...

I'm talking about lowering it from stock temps to something lower.
