Okie dokie so I'm trying to bring my old emachines w2888 back to life. Replaced the power supply because it was making an annoying sound (and 250W). So now I was wondering if the motherboard is the problem so just to make sure before I buy it, is there sappose to be a green light at the top of the MB with a F in a box next to the light?
Sounds normal...nothing to freak out about. It's most likely a light that tells you there's power to the RAM. It's just a light, right? On? What's the problem?
I don't know what the problem is! It won't turn on! I got a new Power Supply because the old 250W one was making a weird noise. A Computer Tech man told me that the MB was dead but I'm not sure if I can really believe that yet. Any advice that can help me eliminate the problem that's not letting it start?

good idea but hook up a speaker to it first if it has none.
oh my gosh man.. now i dont have a computer >.< that was my first personal pc.. wow getting paid $100 a week and working every other week should build up money for a new pc pretty fast. oh well it was a good effort.
