Thoughts about new C2D built?

Thread Starter
Found out today that I have about a $600 budget to build a new rig. Here are the parts (I dunno if I did that Public Wish List right on newegg though):

https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...asp?ID=5102231

Comments? Improvments? BTW I'm going to wait to get some better cooling until I start overclocking.

Edit: I'm reusing my case, HDD, and DVD drive, too.

game - go to EMAIL the wishlist.
Email it to yourself, then use that link

Also- Wait till July 22nd, and get an E6420 instead.
And get the 550w Greatpower (XCLIO) or the next step up... 580 I think?

Could also get my board (P5N-E) so SLI is a possiblity, especially with the 8600GTS

Why not an AMD rig with an AM2 3600+. That way yuo can afford an 8800GTS

I think you are a bit off topic Chozart.

I <3 AMD, I am just worried about the future.

I still prefer Intel for the moment though.

Serious, I think you're the one starting the off-topicness.

For $600, AMD is by far the better choice for a gaming rig, since it allows a much better video card. The CPU isn't *that* important for gaming anyways (except benchmarking, and a few exceptions).

It's not in every case that Intel is the best pick.
