8800 GTX SLI with one OC card and one normal?

Thread Starter
Hello,
I want to buy the 8800 GTX OC (630/1000) from MSI (it's a rather good deal) but I want to add another 8800 GTX later (around christmas). By then, I will probably be able to buy only a normal 8800 GTX (the OC MSI are even now quite rare, they surely won't be aviable by then for a normal price). Will SLI work with two non identical 8800 GTX cards?

Or should I buy a not overclocked ASUS for the same price as the MSI?

Thanks!

As long as they're both the same model (8800GTX), they should work fine. When SLI mode is enabled, the clocks of both cards will just set to the lower of the two. You're better off with 2 regular GTX's since the OC card will be set back to 575/900 when you SLI with a regular GTX.
