X-FI issues

Thread Starter
I have been having some problems with my speakers, I thought. Seems that my X-FI platinum has gone out. Is it possible that having the sound card near the gfx card cause it to short out. For some reason I am getting a little sound in all speakers except the rear left. Need help, please! Thanx!

Well, My Xtrememusic just started to die a month ago. When I would start up, it wouldn't be recognized that I have a sound card. The problem got worse and worse until it happened every time. It isnt next to the GPU though, but I think it just died.

I really dont think that they shorted, unless they were physically touching eachother.

Wow. No I'm seeing a pattern if you guys have the same problem also. This some bs. It was working fine and a month and then the left speaker gave no sound. Any ideas on a new sound card or if Creative will RMA it? Thanx!

My onboard sound works fine. I tried it last night. Don't sound no where near as good as the X-FI. I might just run this thing into the dirt, it's only one speaker that's an issue. The others are thru fine. But my limited warranty is up as of 4/28/2007. So I'm stuck. I have a feeling they're not going to RMA a product they no longer sell on their website. Or at any other store as a matter of a fact. Only the X-FI extreme music they still sell. I guess not much issue with that one. A big f*@# U to their faithfull consumers. lol!
