Here is a bench of mine. This is with my CPU at 2.700 300 HT and my cards at stock (turbo HIS) clocks.

I am running the Warcat 7.4s (and still am) as I feel that they are the best for my setup. In order to enable Crossfire you need the following:
1) monitor that supports the RGB color space (LCD or CRT via VGA or DVI, no S-Video)
2) 2 crossfire bridges (I guess you can use one, but you will notice a performance hit due to lowered bandwidth)
3) Obviously a decent PSU (which you have) Also make sure that other system components aren't sharing the 12V rail amperage.

Well, I've got a Samsung LCD and I know nothing else is on the line with my video card (modular PSU) so once I get the 2nd bridge I should be fine.

By the way, how do you plan on OC'ing your crossfire setup?

I've tried ATI Tools, ATI Tray Tools, and the built in ATI Control Center Overdrive deal, and here are my results trying to OC my two X1600's:

ATI Tools: I could only OC one card per profile, with no way to activate (that I know) two profiles at once, one card would be OC'd while the other was at stock

ATI Tray Tools: I found no areas to OC my 2nd video card, so, I assume I'd only be OC'ing one card only.

ATI Control Center Overdrive: Wigged out crazy like. I got lots of artifacts all over the screen, even in the non direct 3d windows (like on my desktop 'n suck) when I rebooted, and attempted to adjust settings, that area of the CCC was gone, compleatly. I could not readjust any settings. Luckily, no damage was done.

Any ideas/hints/tips?

Test each card individually. Find out the maximum stable OC for each card. Then save the BIOS using this app (you can also edit the clock speeds with this and save a new BIOS with those settings)
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...os+Editor+v2.2
Then create a bootable DOS diskette of USB flash drive. Use this HP utility
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/fi...oad/23839.html
Then flash the BIOS while in the bootable DOS environment using this app.
http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads...lash_3.35.html
You can find out the operators by running the command with no operators I believe. i. e. atiflash while in the atiflash directory.
BE CAREFUL!!!! Make sure that you save a backup before you flash your BIOS.

Hmm, that seems a tad scary. =\\

[edit] So, to clarify. By flashing the BIOS of the video cards, I would have them OC'd all the time, even while not in 3d apps correct?
They will always be OCed, but on the X1950 Pros they have 3d clocks all of the time I'm pretty sure. If you don't know what you're doing I would make sure that you have enough cash to buy a cheap generic PCI graphics card in case a flash goes bad. This way you can boot with that card and your 1600 and flash it back, without a blind flash.

Ahh, I see.

I think I'm going to (when I buy my watercooling kit) do some benchmarks. OC a single X1600 and benchmark the performance, then benchmark my Crossfire setup & see how that compares. Do you think a single card could/would outperform a crossfire setup?
