a bit of memory doubt

For a setup whose only task is to crunch data, what would be the more optimal RAM for an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2 GHz on a ASUS M2V-MX motherboard.
I've got those choices so far:
  1. GeIL Ultra Dual Channel Kit 2x512 (GX21GB5300SDC, CAS 3-4-4-8)
  1. Kingston HyperX 1 x 1 GB (KHX6400D2UL/1G, CAS 3-3-3-10)
  1. Kingston HyperX 2 x 512 MB (KHX6400D2ULK2/1G, CAS 3-3-3-10)
I would think one of the last two.
There are slightly cheaper options, but then it's down to PC2-4200, and I asume that the few extra bucks on getting PC2-5300< is well spent, even if the goal is low-priced cluster nodes.
Of course there are still cheaper modules, but at higher latencies, which I also asume is a buck well spent.

Most importantly.... what kind of data do you need to crunch?

You always want even number of RAM to enable Dual Channel.
Once again...

Well, the data crunching is BOINC but it's going to carry other services than BOINC. Nothing big though. Some web server and various minor services. E.g a TV-card. At the moment there are no gaming considerations for instance if that's the difference in crunching you're looking for.

Just an extra remark:
If I understand it right, the GeIL 3-4-4-8 would be the choice on speed, but if the latency isn't that important -despite optimized CPU and RAM making a difference in overall crunching- there's some PC2-8000 1GHz that are actually cheaper, but 5-5-5-15.
Crucial BL2KIT6464AA1005 and
GeIL GX21GB8000DC.
Which would then weigh the most? I'm not even sure the CPU in question can utilize those modules to the fullest (Athlon 64 X2 2GHz 90nm TDP@35W) let alone the motherboard BIOS. can of course be upgraded though.
