I'm looking into purchasing a new motherboard as my one is a bit old now. any suggestions for new 1?

A decent 478 mobo? You won't find but on eBay only. They're extinct.

But I'd suggest something from ABIT in the form of the IC7 line and the ASUS P4s line, both brands with either a 865PE chipset or a 875P, performance wise no difference between those two chipsets and both are great for overclocking.

No other brand nor model will be better than those two. For Socket 478? No exceptions.
