AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ T not installed correct?

Thread Starter
I have just bought this new cpu and put it in my K8N neo4 motherboard (939 socket).
However first time I started the computer it didnt install any drivers or anything. (my old cpu was a single core so i assume it should?)
When i choose rightclick "my computer"->properties, I get this:

I have also downloaded and installed the driver "AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16" from:
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/..._13118,00.html
And i have also is installed a cpuinfo program from the same place, however it also says my cpu-model is unknown, and when i check the memory bus speed in it it says 200 MHz.!!

Something must be wrong right? is there a driver or something i can do ?

Have you updated your BIOS? I had to do that to my board for it to identify it correctly.

I have the same setup as you...it's reading 2.0GHz like it should...what's it say when you run CPU-Z?

You most likely need to update your BIOS to recognize the dual-core.

eternaldj it doesnt appear to find any bios updates, though it found 5 driver 11 vga and msi utilities update. Is there any way i can see what bios version i currently have?

heh... 200mhz = 400mhzddr ... ddr stands for double data rate, so take your 200mhz and multiply it by 2 .. so you are right where you need to be.,
