Good info form all of you. How come a PSU with 12V1 at 15A and 12V2 at 16A is better than a 12V1 18A and 12V2 18A? Brand and quality?

IIRC, replacing a Dell's power supply or motherboard only fried the other component when Dell did this from 1996-2000. They changed after that and any power supply that can fit should work.

Here is a website that sells Dell replacement power supplies that will fit if you look at the compatibility charts for each one.
