Well after you raise the FSB, press F10 to save and exit the BIOS, then when you boot into windows you can check your processor frequency with CPU-Z or through the control panel - it may even show up right in the post message before Windows even loads!

Ehhh... that doesn't leave you much room, however, you can OC all the way up to the edge of your current vcore limit and your temps should still be okay. So next up, go into the BIOS and start raising your FSB!

Just make sure to lock in the PCI-Ex frequency at 100mhz and the PCI frequency at 33.33mhz, that will save you a LOT of trouble.

I'd say, start at 215 FSB, then work up 3-5mhz at a time.
Good advise..you'd be wise to take it. Download SuperPi if you dont already have Orthos. Use those to 'stress test' after each increase in speed. Any instability will be exposed with testing.

CpuZ can read your cpu and mobo information to show you what your new settings have increased.

*With your temps so 'high'..are you sure, your fan is mounted to the mobo correctly? What is your case ventilation like..fans etc. And list your room temp too it you could please.

Well that was a quick jump, and that's great! However, I'd like you to make sure that your HS is securely mounted, fully engaged in all four corners.

In addition, list your room temp as previously mentioned and also find the Voltage settings options in your BIOS and LOCK your vcore to 1.25-1.3 volts as I'm sure your motherboard is currently set to AUTO, which can DRASTICALLY raise your temps!

60c for a load temp....or what? Understand, 55c is around the maximum temp you want your cpu to be at in the first place. If you are idling there...I would NOT go any further with your OC.

Dropping you temps, will also allow you to run a lower vcore, when you do get your cooler, you should be able to clock into the 2.6-2.8ghz range before your temps are that high again.

Ehh, the stocker is a pile, don't worry about it too much. If you mount your AC Freezer correctly those load temps should drop to ~42-45C, which will let you scale way up the 2Ghz level, like Cl3 stated

It wont. Dont worry, your not crazy. Just make sure, you put a BB size of thermal grease on your cpu and see that the cooler is seated correctly, before turning it on again.

If its a good cooler, it should dissipate the heat before it gets that hot anyhow.

vcore is cpu dependent. Learn YOUR cpu..do not rely on what others use for vcore. Yours could really suck, and needs huge loads of vcore increase for small itty-bitty increase in speed. Or it could do a 1ghz OC with no adjustment at all...only time and testing will tell.
