Remove the media center drive and try to repair one at a time
and make sure that the files you need for raid are not in any folders and make sure that the floppy is enabled in the bios

I see that you left the CMOS battery in the reset position, and you can't see your RAID now?

Well, if that's the case, all you have to do is to look for your RAID (in the BIOS) and whichever name you gave it or if you use the default name, use that name as your FIRST BOOT DRIVE.

This has happened to me before where I have to reset the CMOS and I have to look for my RAID's name and then I select it in the BIOS and then make it as the first BOOT drive.

BUT NOT BEFORE: I set the system to use RAID. Then and only then you'd be able to see the RAID. So, set the CHIPSET to use RAID and then do the name looking and setting as 1st boot drive and it should work.

Hey Nasgul.. thanks for coming to help me out

I did enable RAID and I did set the drive as the first boot drive... now I am trying to get

a. my Media Center boot to see the other drives
b. my XP-32 to boot up (after post the screen goes black and PC restarts)

Charger, yes, I have been trying to repair then with only that specific drive (or array of drives) plugged in... I do have floppy enabled in the very first screen of the BIOS, and also I tried copying the files like you told me to do and when I had this problem doing it like that I used the CD from ASUS and made a floppy with their application...

of course... please! let me get stop this Orthos run on Media Center and get to that screen! ...

I hit any key to boot from CD and I get the blue Windows Setup screen... inmediately I hit F6 aout twenty times then after a bunch of files get loaded I have the option to hit S for "Specify Additional Device...

then i get the pictures (two cause i wanted to make it legible)... and the second picture are the options available... I hit Enter... I get a "please wait..." and kablam! back to the pictures

so I hit F3 to get out and I get the third picture on the way out

there... pics uploaded... sorry but I got a blue screen of death which slowed me down (btw - currently testing 2.8GHz for stability)

I do have one... google? dude! I owe you a cold one!!!

ok, i'll try that now... actually I can't... it has a security feature where it is partitioned and protected under a password... so I can't format it... as a matter of fact... I don't even see the files in it?!?!? hahaha... that sucks... but my floppy drive worked several times before... I think it might be something to do with the timing of when you plug it into the USB?

I remember once I was told that you have to plug it in after the W-Setup starts and before you hit F6... just remembered that... could that be it? no wait..
after you hit F6 but before it asks for the device

I am going to try that now

Stopping Orthos after 17min with 2.8GHz

This is the best thing I have been able to find at this point http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb457123.aspx

I think it "may" help but has nothing specific about you problem.
This will give you a better understanding about the boot process.

Just to make sure can you get to the repair screen at all? eg/ ""XP Pro Setup"" to repair????

ok, thank you, I'll check it out...

in the mean time... if the RAID is healthy and Windows Setup says it can repair itself then I guess it doesn't really need the RAID drivers to repair itself... should I let it go? even though it doesn't load the files from the floppy and hit R for Repair?
