I have three friends with a 360. 2 of them are on their second one. Yikes.

I can believe this, I have heard quite a few stories. However, I think most of the returns were on the first-generation 360s that came out around Christmas time the other year.

This would mainly be the 360's overheating issues unlike the PS3.

Obviously you haven't paid attention to any 360 forums or news....

I know 2 seperate people who both had to replace 4 each....MS FTL

Yes i and everyone else can. About 2 months ago i saw a report online about how Microsoft was running out of boxes to ship to people for returns...

PS3 does overheat.

You know when you build there are bound to be a few bad ones. And alot of ******* who think you can play football with them.

Microsoft also gave all the launch 360's a lifetime warranty.

It's all fanboyism in the end. PS3 guy: "Well 360 breaks so much you should not get one even ignoring the fact they are warranted" 360 guy: "lolwhut?"

LOL

you know.. somehow, I think that's SONY's strategy for the PS2...
But apparently this is true (the failure rate, not the strategy) and it makes me glad that I decided not to get a 360 after all. 30% is a lot!

MS can't do anything right... *shakes head in dissapointment*

***EDIT @Paradox: a few rotten apples? 30%? a few?
XD thats millions of consoles man***

I was about to bust a door down halfway through that haha.

I really don't think that 30% is an accurate number. It is probably closer to like higher teen percent failure rate. Also, not every failure is harware failure, its people being idiots. Like keeping a Xbox or PS3 in a closed entertainment system while on, or setting it on fluffy carpet...or anything that could even remotly cause overheating issues.

However, it has been proven that the the 360 did use some fishy type of material in the system...too bad. But as Jason says, somthing is prety "ridonkulous"...why in the hell is that word in there. That word alone makes me doubt the articles integrity, including the fact that they have no solid proof.

Heating problems from the XBOX 360 leads to it's failure; this is trustable since many people have complained about their 360 needed to be RMA'ed because it dies...
