Actually it would. Add in a sound card, a raid card, and you'd be nearing 1,000W. Change it to a dual-cpu setup, and you could topple 1,200W. Factor in aging of the parts, and a 1,600W PSU could be necessary.

Ultra PSU's are friggin seckzy. I love them now, and i love the modular technology.

i think people are thinking they need too many watts these days. honestly, no one really needs more than 550 watts if they just have a regular setup.
