fan speed

hi all, i have a 8800 gts, what sort of speed should i set my fan speed at?? is 80% ok or will it reduce the lifespam by loads? thanks

Hi.

I use RivaTuner, and I keep tha fan between 60% and 80%. Now that it is summer I keep it at 80%, but supplement the exhaust with a PCI slot cooler.

IF you have air-conditioning, and can keep your ambient temperature below 26-27C, then 60-70% should do.

I try to keep the idle temp at or below 50C, and the load temp <70C... I succeed most of the time.

In the final analysis, it comes down to how much fan noise you can tolerate....

ok i have set the fanto 80% and when i go to ati tools i have the core set at 659 and the mem set at 1025 and the temp is 59 c, is this about right? thanks

Check your load temp, start 3D view in Atitool.

Idle temp would be when you open Atitool, load temp will be after you run 3d view for about 5 minutes.

ok thanks, i just ran it for about 5 mins and the temp went as high as 73 c is that ok or shall i raise my fan speed to 85 ish
