the whole idea of me trying to o.c the graphics card is bcos i have colin mcrae dirt and it runs ok on medium settings but then i slows down for a second or so at certain points, would i need an even better card to run this game without slow downs or would i need to overclock thr cpu? thanks

Meh... I wouldn't sweat 73C during a GPU-intensive application (with an ambient of 25-30C)... it may not be chillin', but I think that it is alright.

Right now my temp GPU is essentially idle at 57C, under a load at this ambient temp (29C) the temp rises to around 65C.

I guess it depends upon how much fan noise you can handle.

I wouldn't be concerned about the lifespan of the fan. It is less expensive to replace a fan as it is a GPU card.... just my
