these are my temps.

sys= 35c
cpu=43c
aux= (122)c (***?)

Usually if you see crazy low or high temps like that it means the chip the software is trying to read from is not connected or not there at all.... No worries man

Don't trust speedfan for anything, specially for C2D temps

Use Coretemp or TAT

And Muncher is right about the high temps

Nearly everyone gets em

SpeedFan reads temperatures just fine, and for the record someone posted an article/conversation where an intel representative says that TAT is not meant for C2D desktops, but only C2D mobiles - it does read the processor as mobile, after all! SpeedFan 4.32 read the exact same temperatures as TAT for my P5W DH Deluxe plus a bunch of other temperatures such as the motherboard and IHS (which is a good judge of how efficiently your HSF is situated on your CPU if you know the room temperature). I prefer SpeedFan over TAT by far.

Ginnz, I notice that SpeedFan is reading your CPU has hotter than the cores, which means that the CPU temperature SpeedFan is getting is either not the IHS or someone is screwed up.

I wasn't sure how speedfan ran with the 6xxx C2D's.. So I didnt' suggest that..

I use Everest to read my T_case.. CoreTemp is good to read the DTS, but I have yet to see info from Intel on Max DTS.. Intel does give the Max T_case... TAT is usually off by 5C, and is not recommended to use as a LOAD tester when oc'ed (could cause damage).. Orthos is a better load tester than TAT..

If you use CoreTemp most keep their max temps 65C or lower...

That might have been my thread.. And yes SpeedFan can sometimes read correct DTS for C2D owners, but that has everything to do with what T_junctions your cpu has.. If you have a T_junction of 85 then Speedfan will read correct for you, but if you T_junction is 100 speedfan will be 15C lower than true.. Never the less, Intel says read the T_case, however Speedfan, Coretemp, and TAT all read the DTS not the T_case...
