Here is the situation. I used to overclock for the shear thrill of getting the electronics above what they were intended to be. So I decided to see how that reflects to gaming. I recently started to get into BF2 and I always have been into Flight simulators. So With that said I decided to see how overclocking my system would do in terms of performance...i.e. frames per sec. Well I set everything in flight sim X to minimal to get a base line. Frames were at about 40-60 per sec. not bad. So I went back and set everything to ultra high. I was getting 6.7-10 per sec. So I then went to overclocking my machine. I was able to get the cpu (Not sig rig)(Its a p4 2.8Ghz with HT) to 3.6Ghz and ram was at ddr667 or somewhere around there. And the g-card (7600gt) was oced to 850Ghz. Took my frames to 27-40 per sec. That is a >50% gain. That is great!....So needless to say I am a firm believer in overclocking...not that I wasn't before but now I have seen for myself that it really does get you more for you money.... Being as I am a cheap bastard....
