If RAID 5 is like 0+1, does the backup drive have to be double the size (or bigger) of the two individual disks? eg. for a RAID 5 setup with 2 x 320GB HDDs, do i need the third HDD to be at least 640GB?

well, what i actually did was delete the my music, movies and pictures folders, and create new ones on my 320gb drive then created shortcuts to them on the desktop. for a while i left the my docs folder where it was on the C: drive (RAID drive) but i decided to move it to the 320 (from documents and settings on XP- its prolly slightly different on vista).

yea you might as well just delete the shortcut and remake it instead of trying to use change target.

yes you can partition- as was said earlier, once drives are RAIDed they basically become 1 drive (queue angelic voices) and since you can partition - you can dual boot 2 OS's.

You have all these hard drives on hand? 2x500 would be uber nice.
