Dual Booting XP and Vista Same HDD Issue

Thread Starter
I have a problem with dual booting XP and Vista. Both operating systems are installed on the same drive and on different partitions using Partition Magic. XP was installed first and has been running on the computer for about 3 months now. I just bought vista ultimate to dual boot. I installed vista and everything seems to be set up correctly.

However, now when I reboot and it asks me which operating system I want to boot, my keyboard does not respond and it boots into vista after 30 seconds.

Now I've read the thread about changing the boot name, but that has not cured my problem.

I am using the Saitek Eclipse 2 keyboard and I have never had any problems before this in it responding to any boot commands.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or a cure to this problem because my searching has lead me to asking in this thread. Thanks

You need to set it in the BIOS for the keyboard to be controlled by the BIOS not OS..same with the mouse
