Monitor goes black and comes back

Thread Starter
What could be my problem? My monitor will go blank for a couple seconds and then comes back. This happens in varying intervals of time. Don't know why, obviously. Hoping to get ideas of what the issue may be.

Check to make sure the vga and/ or dvi cable is tightly placed onto you card. If not I seriously consider it a dieing monitor.

I know this sounds pointless but It may be worth a try. Go to display option in windows and set your screen saver to never start then click apply.
