So the e4300 is slightly faster, but the thing is the asus sli mobo im ordering which is am2 also supports sli whereas i cannot find a cheap 775 board with sli.
basicly that lol just imagine the result as the ammount of tasks it performed, for example opening notepad or whatever, (instructions).
AMD @ 3.0GHz x 9 operations per cycle = 27 total
Intel @ 3.0GHz x 12 operations per cycle = 36 total
And on top of that most of the intel chips can pass 3.0 like it is nothing. My sig rig I have hit 3.6GHz at 1.5vcore on air.
