PB5 Plus + DVD = install HELP

Hi All,

I've got a new build and have everything installed except the DVD player/burner. After scratching my head a bit, I determined that that the DVD (LG\\GSA-H55NK 20X) connects to the motherboard with the supplied IDE ribbon., but...

-Is this the best way to connect it? Would an IDE to SATA converter be better?

-Do I also need to connect the DVD to the 4-pin "Optical drive audio connector" on the motherboard, and if so, what cable do I need?

THANK YOU!!!
