Windows Vista - In Depth. Sucks or Nots? - Page 10

I was weary of Vista because of what everyone was saying about it, but after finally getting it I have to say it is pretty damn nice. And surprisingly (to myself too) I find that I like the UAC. I have no problem with an extra click, and I like knowing what is trying to run or access the internet. In my opinion Vista looks and feels much much better than XP and it seems to perform better as well. And perhaps the greatest thing about it is that its young, so its only going to get better. So people can say what they want about it, but I am sold on Vista.

you guys talking about how great Vista is are just trying to convince yourselves you didn't waste $200+ by buying it. you must know that Microsoft spawned... what, 3 of the world's 10 richest people? all that money and they can't do better than this? you're in denial. every time my friend calls me up telling me about his latest BSOD or how he still can't run certain programs reliably, i just say, "i told you so."

Just because one person has problems it does not mean that we all do, so before you flame vista try it yourself, personally i have had no preoblems like that and even if i have had a problem it hasnt been anything that a quick google couldnt find the soloution to. I do not need to convince myself theat i didnt waste money on vista because i KNOW that i didnt, my user experience has been perfectly fine and i prefer vista ALOT more than xp

I didn't say vista was bad, but you guys are makin it sound like its the best and its completely ready for all consumers. Which is wrong. It still can't run the most hardware well enough. Maybe you're not having problems, but enough people are too see something is wrong. It should just work, we shouldn't have to spend an hour trouble-shooting, then still have it working half-right.

That isn't what I was saying at all.

What I am saying: If you are building a new PC get Vista over XP. If you have XP already keep it...

well, i was thinking it would suck, as ive read horror stories for months now, but i installed Vista Ultimate this week, and have had absolutely no problems with anything so far, my raid worked right away, my asus vista drivers for sound/gigabit lan worked, and nvidia drivers installed no problem..... even my old twinhan dvb-s satelitte card is running without a hitch! I found it faster and easier to install then XP Pro!

so far the only game i have installed is call of duty2, and even that is running fine.

so far i am sold on Vista Ultimate, i never thought i would say that!

lets put it this way.
if there was no microsoft or linux just the computer
then what.

you would be cryin due to no os.
i think vista/xp/linux/unix/OS X haters or fanboys should maybe just appericate what microsoft or linux developers give them.

And another thing:
if you don't even have vista than why argue that its rubbish... because it doesnt have DX10 support? or it takes 5 frame rates away from COD2 or something...
if you dont want vista stick to xp, or if you dont want xp find something else.
an operating system doesnt come perfect when you open it. you need to customize it, i used to use gentoo linux, install that for e.g
it comes with nothing, just the kernel and loading functions.

thats why its called *CUSTOMIZE*
making your o.s perfect.
just think about what ive written all you haters/fanboys.
