good prep? like sanding??

Going along with good paint for cases what would be good for crt enclosures. I work at Ace so I know of the Krylon brand, but do you think I should go with the made for plastic Fusion or stick to the car enamel?

Some spray paint looks great but is very delicate...even among the same MFR paints I find some is suitable and some is not.

I have tried a fair number and the best I think might be the extremely over priced DupliColor auto paint you find at the Parts stores.

About $6 a can with tax...

If you are concerned about adhesion the best prep is simply hit it with Self Etching primer. Then regular primer then paint.

The Duplicolor painst seems very tough and scratch resistant compared to the typical spraybombs at Lowes and Wlamart...especially the bumper blac which is great for the interior.

Ya, use the Fusion for the CRT enclosure. It's REALLY good for plastics.

by prep, yes...I mean cleaning with solvents/alcohol and sanding lightly. Also do the same for the CRT. Just make sure to tape the screen before you do ANYTHING. Also, make sure nothing gets in the vents...on second thought...you'd probably have to take it apart....and that's a bad idea...lol.

Good luck. Might wanna do a clear coat...I dono...

Oh, and baking it is sometimes a good idea...depending on the paint it can work great.

I personally would recommend RUST-OLEUM. I pretty much put it on everything I spray paint. Whether it's wood, metal, plastic or not it does stick to it's word. I consider it the next level down from powder coated paint which is really a pain to sand completely off. So if you're looking for a spray paint that will keep it's color and take a beating go for it. It also comes in enamel
