HD2900XT 1GB GDDR4 card w/Benches! - Page 2

IMHO those benches are horrible! notice the cpu score of nearly 6000???? talk about jacking up that score! the crossfire graphic card shader scores are within a few hundred of my lowly sli 320mb gts. Nothing to get excited about here folks! just seeing how an uber clocked quad jacks up 3dmark06 scores!

Exactly, NC. I think that somebody should benchmark a system like this:

-Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
-2x1GB of DDR2-800 Ram
-Intel / nVidia LGA775 Motherboard
-8800Ultra SLi / HD 2900XT CrossFire

The E6600 should be stock and so should the graphics card. They should just run 3DMark's and see how well they do.

Well as soon as that one seller on eBay gets back to me, I may be able to provide that sort of system benchmark very soon. I'm a hair away from getting that card.

Why run them stock for benches? Considering this is Overclock.net, I would assume most of us are more interested in what the card is capable of, not what it runs stock. The Brisbane didn't become popular here because of its stock speeds...

I think atupid is right. We all overclock here, and if you dont why are you here? Secondly what does it matter what cpu they use if they bench both cards on it... I dont see why you guys make excuses for everything. I come here to find out wich card is the better buy, not what card you guys want to be better. Enough with the fanboys. ATI and Nvidia both!

well if they overclock one they should overclock the other. the ultra in that benchmark was not overclocked at all. It may look like it to the untrained eye - but if you notice the current clocks - they just slid the bars up and saved a previous clock without activating the overclock. lamer way to overglorify something that barely beats out gts gpu scores.

Those card clocks are very easy to attain on water. nickless over at XS has his 2900pro clocked at 992/2400 (ddr) on water. That is 3dmark stable but not stress test. Stress testing highest stable is 900 core, same mem. I will be on very good water very shortly now

edit:
crap who dug this up?
