AMD 64 3800+ overclock

hi im trying to overclock my amd64 cpu from 2.4ghz but my motherboard bios dosent have any where you can overclock your cpu so i was wondering what i can do and if theres any software that you can use compatible with vista.........and also if my AMD athalon 64 3800+ is overclockable

Overclocking with software is just about pointless. First, there is just no way to change the voltage really, thus you can only overclock a little bit...

3800 is overclockable, kinda doubt the motherboard will do much for you and I don't know enough about vista to be sure that there is a working program for ocing within the os. You could look up the newest clockgen or nvtune and see if they are compatible though.

If you can adjust Core voltage in the Copaq Bios (wich i doubt) set it to 1.5 max or else temps will go trough the roof. The Compaq bios leaves almost no room to temper with the settings so i suggest you use ntune or clockgen. but ntune only will work properly if you have a Nvidia Chipset.
