CPU: Q6600 (Price drop July 22nd $266)
Cooling: Tuniq Tower ($60)
Case: Antec 900 (Just purchased from Frys this morning for $90)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R ($160)
Memory: Ballistix 4x1gb (just ordered 2 sets from newegg $140 AR)
Video: eVGA 8800gtx ($529 AR)
PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700W ($130 AR)
Keyboard: G15 ($75)
Mouse: G5 ($45)
Sound: Onboard sound
Speakers: Some decent logitechs i have
Monitor: Samsung 226BW ($315 AR)
OS: Vista Ultimate x64 (Free from those live.com games)

Total: Around $1800 AR (around $1880 before rebates)

What do you think? I plan on doing some serious overclocking (another first for me), so i plan on lapping both the cooler and CPU. I've heard good things about the p35 chipset and quads so i decided to go with that setup.

i always thought a build <$2000 was a cheaper, or at least mid-range build...especially considering the price includes the monitor

i just hope im able to get decent clocks with the quad, ive heard they heat up easily

That is a pretty beastly computer you got coming.
I recomend this to most people and I will do the same to you.

Do you have any idea of how many watts you are really going to use?
Unless you plan on buying another one of the video cards, you are probably safe at around 450 watts.
This person has very similar components to you, and he is only using 380 watts.
Article: http://www.overclockers.com/articles1452/
I would say you will probably not end up using 300 of those watts.
