Can someone please explain why the Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS is so cheap? it comes with DX10, 450mhz and is one tenth the price of the GTX... sounds awesome to me...

Well, that has to be the lowest end dx10 card out. If you don't have Vista then you don't need DX10 and the DX10 games get into full flow in like a year and a half. TBH it's probly the same performance as a 7300, 7600.

Yeah, like Chris said, while it may be "Dx10 enabled," most DX10 games probably won't run hardly, if at all, on that card.

It's so cheap because it is slower than the 7300GT.

Supports full-screen AA that will only provide playable frame rates at 640 x 480.

Uggh, it's a Turbo Cache as well. That means it robs RAM from the system. No go.

Its an entry level DX10 graphs card. Just cos it supports DX10 and is in the 8 series doesn't mean its v powerful.

Yeah, its really designed for High Def video watching rather than gameing. That and running vista's visual effects.

The 8400GS is cheap for a reason as its a basic introductory card. It may support full 16xAA but don't expect to be able to use that feature with full graphics detail and 1280x1024 resolution at the same time.
