build a tight budget c2d system

Thread Starter
i just want to see what i can get my friend for a reasonable price. I would like it to be capable of at least a mild overclock. I really have no idea whats good in the low end intel line up so if anyone could build me a system for as little money as possible that would be great. He pretty much plays oblivion and wow everyday so its got to be capable of that.

Im not even going to tell you how much he wants to spend lol its sad. but someone will get close.

don't be afraid of DDR2 533 and 40gb HDD's guys lol

Use old case and Old DVD drive and his old PSU as long as it is good... and you wont be able to OC on this rig with that chipset and that ram.

I would suggest going C2d. Buy as much of the guts as you can with $400, Cpu, Mobo, Ram, ect. And build up from there.

I started this about 4 months ago and just finished my build. *looks @ Sig*
