Need Some Advise for Watercooling

Hey everyone...I am new to the water cooling frontier. Not even sure if it's right for me, but I'd rather go water cooling than pelt of phase right off!

The computer that i would need cooling for would be the one below in my specs...I may be upgrading to a newer processor soon...maybe a quad-core, who knows!!

But anyway, I need some help with a water cooling setup that would be powerful enough to cool the processor i have in my specs, yet still be powerful enough to cool the newer processors out today...in other words, I want a bad ass high-end water cooling setup...

Now, if i do decide to get a new proc, mobo, etc. I'll probably get another case, so that would be my first question:

What would be the best case for a water cooling setup? I've heard of the Armor, and right now i have the Kandalf, but would be willing to switch over to Armor, but is there anything that's even BETTEr for water cooling? I would like to have the whole setup inside my computer case, but if needed, I reckon i can fit it outside of the case.

Here are some questions I am pondering over:

1. Is it better to have your radiator on the front of the case for intake or on the top for exaust/intake?

2. Do i need a 2 or 3 -120mm fan radiator?

Also, I have no idea what kind of CPU water block i would need, and am not sure what parts i would need for a complete kit. I would like to make my own custom kit, though, because i want the best low temp performance!

Hook me up guys and girls! I am still reading around on the water cooling threads to learn more stuff, but still need your help! Thanks!

1. Better to have it on the exterior, be it top or back of case. That way it intakes the coolest air through the radiator

2. Need a 1 for warm CPUs, 2 for Hot CPUs(Quad Core) + warm GPU, 3 (tripple rad) for CPU + GPU + other stuff + or hot components. Ideally 3 if you have room.

Any case is doable for WCing, provided that its atleast a mid-full, but i've seen micro/shuttles. If you have a swiftech Radbox, it makes mounting the radiator nearly anywhere a sinch! Good luck, have fun with it!

I'll leave you with ira-k's bible on watercooling!

I'd go with something like this...

CPU....fstfrddy makes us a really good CPU block...

....Stinger WB

Or the D-Tek Fuzion..

...D-Tek CPU Block

Rad If you don't mind 70+ cfm fans I would go for either the 480 or 360 GTX..

...GTS 360

...GTX Xtreme Series :: Black Ice GTX480

You could hang a 360 on the back of your case on a rad-box...I like to keep my rad out in the cooler room ambient temp's...

...Rad-Box

Tubing I really like the 7/16x5/8" tubing...You use it on 1/2" fittings...

....7/16"x5/8" Masterkleer

Or full 1/2"...

...1/2"x3/4" Masterkleer

Pump..

...D-5 Without Rheo

Clamps I like the worm-drive type but zip-ties work great...0

Cool, thanks both of you...I'll mull this over with some stuff i am already reading up on. I would like to get one of the most efficient rad's possible...(I'm going to say money isn't a problem, just to see what the best rad's out there are...although in reality, i will have to save up to get all of this stuff)

There are 2 companies that come to mind when you say that, Hw Labs and Thermochill.
The Thermochills come in 1,2, and 3 x 120mm fan size.
The Hw Labs come in the same but have a 4x120mm rad as well.
You can find most of them here:

Ah, yes i have heard of the thermochill rads....so thermochill and Hw Labs are probably the best at cooling? I mean I'd like to have the sound a bit lower than what i am seeing right now from my air setup...i have a pretty loud front intake fan...the stock back blowhole fan is pretty silent...also, I'll be upgrading my power supply to a bigger one with probably a quiter fan...or maybe I'll just replace the fan on it. But anyway, after all of that rambling, I would like the best rad out there pretty much. I Would like it inside my case, but i guess it doesn't have to be.

Oh, and any suggestions about a case? Anything besides an Armor? (not that the Armor isn't good, cause i like it, but i am just trying to get the heads up about what else is available out there. Thanks for the replies peeps, keep them up! And I'll keep on reading some other threads!

Moutning the radiator as your front intake would give it cool air, but it would heat up the interior air quite a bit. Probably a rad up top would be best for temps.

About the Thermochills and HwLabs, the thermochill is more for lower CMF fans and works good with them.
The HwLabs is for higher CMF fans, so what i do with my 480GTX HwLabs, i have some nice 90CMF 120x38mm fans on it, with a fan controller, so i can control the speed and noise at anytime , im just a freak but i love having choice .

There are so many cases out there, try choose a full tower case so it can fit all the watercooling stuff in it as needed.
Al depends on what you like on looks with cases, so post some up here and we'll help you choose and debate

I say to get the best temps...keep your rad outside, the whole thing! like me in my sig
did that to both my rads to take advantage on the cooler room temp air.

Okay, that's a few people that have told me to keep the rad outside...hmmm. I'll still have to ponder over that one...I'm still not sure if i want to get a 2 x 120mm or a 3 x 120mm rad...would a 3 x 120 even fit in a case?

Okay, about to go case looking...

Okay, after looking at Newegg.com for some different full tower cases, I've come up with some.....lemme know what everyone thinks!

Never can forget this one, lol.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133024
This one here is what has got my eye. It comes with a 3 x 120mm rad (not that i would use the thermaltake included one....I'd buy another rad and water block and all of the rest, but is this a good case for water cooling?

http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc.../vb5001sna.asp
Also saw that one...and it's built for water cooling...though i would definitely change everything in it to my water cooling setup.

Tell me what you guys/girls think! I mean, if i could fit the rad on or in the case it would be cool, but if i just have to, I guess i could mount in outside on top of the case or something!
