The G0 stepping is the first completely new roll out for the Core 2 processors. It is a more efficient manufacturing process and higher grade silicon. Power consumption and heat are down. That only leaves one thing to be up... overclocking.

I have my pre-order in.
Yep thats exactly what I am looking at. Its like the amd low watt versions maybe better maybe not. But it will allow me to run it on my phase at less volts for the same oc (hopefully) and Ill be a happy camper.

The new CPUs, which can be identified by the CPUID “06FB†(B-3 processors were labeled “06F7â€), also increase the Tcase, a value that describes the maximum temperature a CPU can sustain, by 11 degrees Celsius. According to Intel, this change will allow system builders to scale back cooling requirements and achieve lower system noise levels overall.
Sounds good to me...GO X3220 anyone? ...

Yup... I was offering Tank Guys to pay in full as long as three months ago when we heard about 06FB's voltage requirements... the Tcase is also nice!!! especially for those of us on air...

I know for a fact that we are amongst the first five but it is impossible for them to keep an exact list without making it so complicated that they would have to start thinking about charging us a small premium... Tank Guys rock for doing us this huge favor! I think all of you with a pre-order (possibly once it arrives) should Rep+ TankGuys... not a big deal but I think it would be in order...

Also... use Google Check out for them cause it saves them money... that is the least we could do. Besides Google Check out is kinda' cool...

Yeah - I'm currently in on this! I hope I'm one of the very few at the top of the list! Even if this G0 stepping did go over $300, I personally would still follow through with the pre-order.

Got my pre-order in. Makes me sad that it wont be in until august... or worst maybe even September... its going to be a long summer, but it's really great to ensure the G0 stepping. Now when is OCZ going to release that fancy new water/air Hydrojet thingie....

Crap! 1 year after I bought my E6600, the Q6600 is going to cost way less than what I paid for my E6600.

And I'd definitely buy a Revision G0, example: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...58&postcount=1

Looks like stepping B.
