ok, so, would it be smart to xpend $380 on a 8800 gTS 640mb with eVGA or wait until 8800 GTX goes down to 450?....or get a crappy one with eVGA and in get into the step-up program?

There's no way a 7600GS can get playable framerates outdoors in Oblivion with everything maxed out at 1280x1024. Even a 7950GT (which is twice as powerful) has issues.
Once again...

I'd get an HD2900XT, it's pumping out the performance of the GTX but for alot less money

I max AA and AF at 1024*764, it can handle that perfectly, no lag, no spits nothing, but at 1600*1200, it slows down.

but I never game at 1600*1200, heck i dont even have my monitor at 1600*1200...

EDIT: i havent tried 1280x1024. but i'll try it this afternoon with fear and oblivion(i uninstalled it though, will have to reinstall)
