Xbox 360 Questions. 1680 x 1050 Resolution? If not then what? - Page 2

You dont need to buy the more expensive Xbox 360.

The ONLY difference between the 2 is the hdd and one has a chrome plated dvd drive thing. Thats basically it.

You can save games if you buy a memory card, and you can play online.

I bought the cheap 360 and upgraded it a few months later. The hdd is a nice feature, but indeed is not needed unless you plan on downloading demos or something, or rippin music to it.

Mad_Handlez89 u say all lcds are able to run hd mode? Is there any proof to this. I'm not saying I dont believe u but I would like to set my 360 up on my 20 inch widescreen too. Just need to know about the HD part for the adapters.
By the way my monitor is a Dell 2005 fpw.

i have that same cable but i use it for my projector and the difference is night and day compared to the regular rca cables. i have used it on my lcd as well and 30 bucks is a steal compared to hdmi cables which are way overpriced

I recommend getting the premium over the core simply because you get a extras with it. You get the hdd, headset and component cables, but i believe you would need to get the vga cords for that monitor.

i believe the difference between the core and the premium and $100 and those extras are worth it. The hdd is very nice cuz you can download demos and try out games before buying. Oppose to renting the games. You could get the core system but you would have to purchase a memory card.

If you got the xbox vga cord to hook up with your monitor it comes with a audio jack to put into speakers, so those speakers should be just fine.

I also will be using my Xbox 360 with my Monitor and Speakers. So, I need the VGA Cable to hook it up to my Monitor and the Audio Cable to connect the Cables for Left and Right Audio to my Sound Card?

Also, if my 360 is using VGA this means I must use D-Sub?!

Yeah, you need the HD VGA cable, can be had on ebay for $15 about.
You also need a Y audio cable, with the red and white male on one end, and a single female on the other.
Why would you hook it up to your sound card? You just hook it straight into your speakers.

My Monitor And Speakers:

Logitech Z-2300 Speakers
BenQ 20" Widescreen Display

What I Need:

Xbox 360 VGA Cables
Audio Splitters, RCA/Stereo

The cables would go something like this:

Xbox 360 --> VGA Cable --> Display
Xbox 360 --> Audio Splitters --> Speakers

Do I need to do anything else, and, would I have to run my Monitor (for games) in D-Sub?
