Neverwinter Nights 2 / Oblivion. What GPU can run this decently?

Hey guys,

So... recently moved to Ireland and had to buy a quick PC so I could have internet connection, mostly, so got a Dell that came with a 7300LE which has actually served its time - played WoW well and that's really all I cared about at the time.

Been running for a while, but recently got Neverwinter Nights 2 and Oblivion, and the card turned into a complete artifact-fest. I think the RAM might have had it.

SO! I'm really not savvy when it comes to videocard definitions to be honest not particular real requirements for those two games - I'd just like to get something I can run NWN2 and Oblivion well (read: not all the way maxed - but decently)

Honestly I don't want to spend more than 60-70 euro, but I could probably stretch it.

What do you recommend on that budget? (Oh yeah, PCI-E, please)

EDIT: I was going to pick tomorrow a XFX 8400GS, not sure it'd do it though - but looked decent for the price. What do you think?

Go with Oblivion, I heard NWN2 runs like crap on everything

I don't recommend an 8400... the performance in Oblivion would be terrible...

NWN2 is like a reincarnation of Morrowind. Runs like crap on any kind of system but is extremely fun.

EDIT: Didn't see your budget. Omg stay away from the 8400GS. You'll get maybe 10FPS out of low Oblivion settings. I don't know prices for euros too well.

Can't find that under 200 euro somewhere to ships to Ireland.

Something else slightly under I can use for both those games decently?

To be honest, I kinda made them run in the 7300LE alright after loads (boy, do I mean it) of tweaking - not the quality I'd like to play them all the way through with, but alright I guess. If I can squeeze better performance for not a lot more money I'd be happy.

More bad reviews on the 8400GS, glad I didn't buy it - I was going to put the order this afternoon.

You could try to find a 7600GT or a 7900GS/GT.

Found these in a good price range. 80-90 euro - Honestly more than I wanted to spend, but if they'll run those two games decently I could probably stretch it.

Thinking in going with a EVGA GeForce 7600GT 256MB

Good? Bad? Any other suggestions?

Well, not on all system. Both games run great on mine.
Seriously, though, they are both demanding. If you can get a 7900 series, you should be ok.
