heres a more specific ? in reading the guide it sais dont exceed above 48C so does this mean before attemting or during? let me illabirate, at idle my cpu is at 40-41C after runnin as far as the second test in futuremarkv06 1.02 my cpu was at 52C i aborted the test, and it cooled down in seconds, all ive done is use ai booster changed the memory voltage to 2.0v (cpuz reads its at 412.5mhz) and adjusted cpu to (cpuZ reads corespeed at 3300mhz multiplier at 15 bus speed 220.mhz ht link at 1100mhz) so my ? is am i already over heating? lol plz say it isnt so! whats the threshold of danger on a chip like mine?? thx

First, can you go to "User CP" and fill in the "Edit System" field found at the left side of the screen? This will help us all to help you.

Now to your question. 50c is the mark most of us use as a stopping point when overclocking. The CPU can actually handle a little more but it is nice to have a safety margin.

At 3.3Ghz you already have a pretty good overclock for the 6000 on air. I would make sure that your Zalman is seated correctly on the CPU and that you applied AS5 in the correct manner.

http://www.arcticsilver.com/arctic_s...structions.htm

If you continue to see temps above 50c then it is probably time to look for better cooler, such as a Thermalright Ultra 120 or 120 Extreme and make sure that you have good airflow through your case.

What VCore are you running to get to 3.3Ghz? You should be able to get there with no more than 1.4v.

What is the ambient temperature of the room your system is in?

2.2v should be fine for your memory and 825Mhz should not be an issue.

Here is a screen shot of my 6000 at 3.3Ghz

52C is a bit high, but safe, keep it below 55C, and you should be fine. as for overclocking, dont use windows based overclocking tools, they are just a PITA. Use the BIOS. set the FSB as 220Mhz, and that will give you 3.3Ghz. Then use Orthos as a stability test, and keep on raising the FSB until Orthos fails, then raise the CPU voltage, drop the HT multi to 4x and keep on going

If you can run it stable at less volts then you should. Volts = heat.

Here is mine at 3.3 and 1.4v.
