I don't play any steam games, so this build will handle it?

Bout $30 dollars more but will get him DX10 for the future and I think it is a little faster.

cool thanks for the help!

That's really not fast at all. DDR2 Memory is by far the lesser. If you are considering DX10, 8600GTS is pretty well minimum for any future games!
you can get the oem version of that proc for 54 i believe on newegg to save some bones and get real ram. =\\

I would go with this powersupply. It has a much better reputation for reliablity and it about the same price.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104954

If you are looking to do some good overclocking on that 3600 which I assume you are by your choice of board and cooler I would suggest you get this ram. Its really good stuff. $85

If you are looking for a little bit better GPU go with one of these.

Open box x1650xt $98

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16814102061R
Open box x1950 pro $127

Also if you can pick up your case locally as you will save yourself some money on shipping since for cases it is atrocious.
