PS3 Halo-Killer Killzone 2 To Be Shown At E3 - Page 7

Hm. Doubt halo 3 killer but we will see. Surprised ESRB isn't swinging it's communistic sword around this showcasing.

Generic how? What was a better FPS from 2001 on Xbox? It was the Killer App, face it. The face paced action of Halo/Halo2 influenced the health system in COD2, GOW, and a few other titles...so bungie must be doing something right. Its your opinion if you believe that there were better games from that generation....but most people seem to disagree with your opinion.

You keep saying that there is a better FPS that came out in the same time frame (same console) for Xbox, and I keep asking you to name one, but you never answer the question.

You also can't say that the PC ratings of the games are accurate reflections of the title. I've played both Halo's on both the PC, and Xbox. And the Xbox is a completely different playing experience. The ports are just gastly....

Oh well....if you won't make fun of me for liking Halo, I won't make fun of you for liking Killzone.

Growing up as a PC Gamer, Halo never stood a chance to impress me honestly especially after games like System Shock 2, Deus Ex, and so on. Halo never stood a chance on PCs that's why Microsoft ignored that version until the point where releasing it didn't matter anymore because everyone loved the xbox version... Also there were very few Great xbox games, and halo isn't one of them.

Also "Most" people do not disagree with me, i would say it's 50/50 actually. Alot of people Like halo but don't love it. Alot of People Hate it. Alot of people love it.

Yes obviously it is my opinion and let's all agree to respect eachother's right to their own opinions and end this. If you have fun playing Halo, so be it, i won't make fun of you for that.

Halo is somewhat "unrealistic" Thats what may turn some people away from it. If they play PC most of the time, chances are some or most of their FPSs are realistic. So the ability to throw a grenade seventy-five yards may make them stay away. I can call it what I want, I played it enough to understand...
'bout time.

There were much better games on the PS2 like Metal Gear, SOCOM, Final Fantasy series, RE series and so on. Killzone was one of the worst PS2 games Ive played.

Theres no proof of them being 30%...more like 10% and even then thats pretty high.
Very nice!

Alright, since we are playing the shipped numbers we can give the PS3 5.5 million Here is proof of 5.5 million sold. The end of the quarter is in a couple of days, we can see then for actual numbers of sold consoles. So about 50% of all 360 owners purchasing Halo 3 on the release date?

I'll agree that there is no proof of a 30% failure rate, but it is abnormally high. The problem is that they send PREVIOUSLY DEAD refurbished 360s to people whose 360 breaks. The refurbished ones obviously aren't as good as the new ones, so people who have theirs die and get a refurb are much more likely to get another ring of death.

The failure rate is obviously too high. One repair company has stopped repairing 360s because the volume of problematic consoles. The UK repair place is supposodly having 1.5-2.5k Xbox 360s daily come in with the RRoD. One person has even managed to go through 11 360s by himself.

But I s'pose that is okay, I mean...

I'll agree with that part. I don't love the game, nor do I see what was so amazing about it. I do enjoy playing it, but if I had to decide between Halo and another game, Halo may be left out in the cold The thing that makes me want to hate Halo is the hype it receives.

Edit: Figured I should add in that the failures are so high that Microsoft is running out of boxes for them.

And here we go again with the opinions. That's fine that you think Killzone is better than Halo. But just because you think it's better doesn't make Halo a bad game or invalidate its obvious popularity.

No, rating a game that was released 3 years ago using today's standards is not valid. We were talking about the Xbox and PS2 games, not the PC ports of said games. Your rating is for the PC version and it is being compared to PC games out today as well as what reviewers expect of games today. No one is going to deny that the game hasn't been changed. Compared to other PC games today it does not really compare. As a PC gamer I agree with that. But you simply cannot use that rating and just say that that should be the rating for the Xbox version as well.

You think if Nintendo officially released Super Mario Brothers for PC, with no major changes just as Halo 2, and then reviewers rated it by using today's standards of things like in depth game play, detailed graphics, etc. that our rating would be valid? Of course not. And if you can't see the difference between rating an Xbox game from 2004 and its PC port from 2007, then this is a pretty one sided argument.

You hear about problems but there is no way 30% of the entire population of manufactured 360s fails. Until proof is released, there is absolutely no reason to believe that. I don't think people realize how large 30% is.

We get that you don't like it but millions would disagree with you. I was a PC gamer first and yes, the game definitely has weak spots especially when compared to PC titles but it has matured quite a bit since it was released. In terms of the single player campaign and its expansive multiplayer.

Unfortunately, that's what companies do. It's nothing new. They repair products and send them back out again. If it broke once, it is likely to break again. It's one reason I'm done with Western Digital. I've had 3 RMAs for this drive and I always get a different drive, but each one is "recertified." Which means they looked at it, possibly fixed it and sent it out. Every one I've had given back to me has failed and my newest one looks to be on its way out as well. I have to RMA each replacement.

Exactly...30% is about 3 million which would be all the population of the Phoenix metro area...I really doubt that many people have had 360s break on them.

And you just gave me a good reason to go Seagate if my Mom ever caves and allows me to buy/build a new computer Parents just don't grasp the fact that putting an old P4 with a 6200 against a C2D and something in the 8000 series is like putting a Prius against a Corvette.

Yeah, that is a lot. Its pretty safe to say that it isn't that high, but I think its a lot more than the "Vocal Minority" that MS is claiming though.
