PS3 Halo-Killer Killzone 2 To Be Shown At E3 - Page 8

If Halo is so bad why does every company try to make games that will "be the next Halo" eh? Why are game mechanics like the health system from Halo 2 used in other games now? Why don't we hear about people lining up for other FPS game releases? If Halo were not as fan-damn-tastic as it is you would not hear so much about it. The people who love and praise the Halo series outnumber you all.

Halo is Generic? No every other FPS up UNTIL Halo has been generic (with a few exceptions) Halo drastically changed what it takes to be a great FPS. The Multiplayer maps are simply amazing, the three Halo 3 Multiplayer maps I've played are a w e - i n s p i r i n g!! They break away from the normal rooms corridors and stuff you see on a lot of other Multiplayer Maps in other games.

It's like being a FPS vegetarian. You might not like how Halo tastes or think it's wrong what they do to the grunts. But I'll be damned if you aren't totally outnumbered on this. I like my FPS to have some meat. Until I see one better than Halo I'll have to ask you to keep your game-diet to yourself.

Here have a Sticky Grenade.

I enjoyed Halo when it was me and seven other people with two T.Vs split four ways. The single player was decent but since I only played it on the PC way past release it wasn't very exciting. I'm sure it was great in 2001 (I assume that is when it came out?) but I still think the best shooter game for story, graphics and level design would go to Half Life 1 and Half Life 2.

NOTE: The biggest problem I found with Halo 1 was the lack of textures.

The fact of the matter is, is that the $800 you'll pay for a ps3 and it's components (couple games, extra controller) is simply not worth it, no matter what game comes out on it.
However if there is a price drop at christmas it will definitely make the ps3 much, much more attractive and I would more than consider getting one if it were in the $400 price range, but not before I get a Wii.

If you're going to say it isn't worth it... For me a 360 wouldn't be worth it because I'd get a Premium because I need some hard drive, I'd get a HD-DVD addon so I can watch my movies in HD, I'd buy another controller, a game, and a Live subscription... WOW!!! Its the same price OR MORE than a PS3, controller, and a game. Then I pray that the 360 wont crap out on me.

I believe the comparisons of each console selling about the same in the first 6 months doesn't really hold true. I remember when my friend pre-ordered his 360 at launch, but didn't receive it for about a month because of a massive shortage. And there were others in his situation. I cannot say for certain or have any proof, but I thought the shortage extended for several months after that.

Now this is not the same as the PS3. They are not having a shortage of supplies, they are having a shortage of buyers. Some people are just not interested in them.

I believe this is why they have comparable sales to the 360 in the first 6 months, as mentioned previously. But again, what do I know.

Edit: Oops, was totally off topic. Halo was great for the dorm setting because of 4v4 matches. Some of us failed a course or two because of it.

OK... I wasn't talking about the 360 at all, which I don't believe is worth the price tag if you want hd... but honestly... I wasn't talking about the 360, at all, ever, I've been extolling the virtues of the Wii this whole time cause I think it is simply the best console for the price.
I could really care less about hd-dvd and blu-ray because in my opinion the only thing worth watching in HD is Planet Earth on discovery or anyhting else on discovery in HD for that matter, otherwise $1000 or more for an hdtv is well... a bit superfluous

then you pray that your PS3 does not, overheat, die, make a loud screeching noise, optical drive death.....

the 360 is not the only console with a few problems you know.

Well it depends...PS3 isnt worth it if you use it for just a gaming console.
