So get the X2 3600+ Bris for some easy and great OCing... likely 3G+ with out much work and its way inexpensive

There aren't any DDR3 AMD MBs available yet.. soon but not yet

as for ram, id like to go ddr3 but thats too expensive.. im prolly going to go with the OCZ (OCZ2FX800C32GK) DDR2 PC2-6400 800MHz CL 3 FlexXLC Edition 2GB (2x1024MB) Dual Channel Kit 3-4-4-15 not quite sure what those numbers stand for tho. http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...46&cid=RAM.835

or maybe i should go up a notch and go with the 1066 MHz and get the http://canadacomputers.com/index.php...45&cid=RAM.812

ive heard of a socket f mobo anyone know what thats about?
i just recently made the switch to faster ram myself, so i have to recommend the 1066mhz speed if it is within your budget. and stick with the 5200+, pretty sure you are going to like it. and looks like the asus board you are choosing will work well also, and here's another if you don't feel happy with the asus. it's the eVGA's nForce 590 SLI motherboard. the asus M2N-SLI uses the nforce 570 chipset.

here is the evga mobo...

Socket F is Socket 1207 which is server and is AMD's 4x4 which has 2 CPU's. It's servers mainly and very expensive not to mention ECC RAM is needed which is almost the price of standard DDR3.

Anyway

If you have the extra cash http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131011 is a bit better than the M2N regular and if you want get a GTS 640 and a C2D..

Your rig will be much better off, even though I hate saying it.

For ram get some 2x1GB DDR2 800 G.Skill HZ's an OC them to about 1000?

First of all, not very many motherboards support DDR3 memory at this point - the M2N being one of those that doesn't. The M2N ONLY supports DDR2 memory.

Secondly, Socket F motherboards are for DUAL Socket F CPU's, as in the FX-74's.

The Athlon 64 X2 3xxx/4xxx/5xxx/6000 series CPUs (such as the 5200+) are SOCKET AM2 CPU's, which is what the M2N motherboard has.

I hope this clears things up a little. Don't buy anything unless you are absolutely positive it will at least work first - for your own good.

Most if not all AM2 mobos officially support DDR2 800 or slower, but that doesn't mean you can't attain higher than DDR2 800 speeds. You can always overclock that RAM to higher frequencies from the stock 400 (800) the mobo sets on default.
