thanks bro! I am in the same boat and that's where I am comming from in writing this stuff up... I tried updating the first post as much as possible especially today with Tiramisu's OC'ing rampage (OMGosh still can't get over it... 3.6 with "hot" ambient on air!) however I must apologize for the format of the first post... it is hard to make it look good and organized when there is so much info and you have to edit on such a tiny little square, lol

I agree with you... there is no way we should feel like we are wasing money here... we are buying a beast and we are paying very little of the premium since most has already been shaved off... no matter what MoBo you go with, if you go with one that OCs Quads well chances are you will be as future proof as you could be... (BTW I love ur system in ur sig, only showing what u have recieved and paid for lol, sweet times) consider looking for a DDR3 friendly board that sports a P35... if you get that then I'd say u r golden for a LOOOONG arse time dude... you will have 45nm suppoer with any ASUS board you pick and really DDR3 might be the only thing you might want to check into... but I wouldn't sweat it too much... fast DDR2 is cheap and you can stock up on that without sinking too much cash

Yes it appears these CPUs are really OK ... (nice to see 'real' members have great success) .. matching them to a good MB is the challenge ... unfortunately the Q66 did not do well on the DFI 965-S so it is now in the DFI 680i and faring somewhat better .. and now there is the E6850 dudes to look at as well

4746 - stringy

That's my order number. Think I'll make it into the first 450?

One quick question for you guys. I haven't ordered my MoBo yet and I'm somewhat undecided between the p5b Dlx/WiFi and p5k Dlx/WiFi. Newegg tends to have OEMs of the p5b for about half the cost of the new p5k. I'm trying to be cost effective, so I've been leaning toward the p5b, but I'm just a little apprehensive because all of these amazing Q6600 OC reports seem to be on a p5k. Has anyone heard if the p5b plays just as well with the Q6600?

Check out my current system...As you can see it's been a while since I upgraded. I work with Video and Audio. Think I'll see a performance boost with a new OC'd Q6600 based system?

I have been wondering the same thing, I have a P5B Deluxe and am wondering if I should upgrade to the P5K Deluxe or not?

I hope this is the correct place to ask this question directed towards TankGuys.

How long are you going to offer the Q6600 with G0 stepping? In the future, are you going to give us the option of buying a Q6600 specifically with G0 stepping or is this a temporary offer?

Stringy, I think u might... last time we heard there were 270 people but with the recent reports I bet that number skyrocketed... I think it was a bit less than a week ago, the 270 count that it...

R00bin, I bet $20 there will be nothing but G0's at Tank Guys in the near future. They probably already sold all of the B3's off and there won't be B3's being made anymore so chances are you won't even have to worry about it. However you can always request for them to check the stepping which I believe was something they always did for OCN members which is one of the reasons why they have a section on the forum.
