crossflow performance impact

Hi,

Just wanted some opinions on this setup, if the fans crossing each other and causing crossflow will impact on performance. As you can see it's not setup exactly but I've placed the fans close to where they will be.

On the right is the PSU pulling air towards it, on the opposite side is the radiator with two 106CFM fans pulling air towards them, at the back are two 56 CFM fans pulling air out of the case.

some things I was considering
-reversing the flow of the PSU fan
-removing the back fans completely
-reversing the flow from the rad

I wouldn't mess around with the fan in the PSU.

Can you post a pic of the rest of your case? Your rad fans are currently pulling warm air from inside the case? I say reverse those.

heh I should've said my case is DD torture rack, and I will have 2 other fans on the radiator on the outside also (push & pull), making 4 rad fans in total.



There's no hot air at the bottom where my rad is and the psu, that's why I was thinking the psu fan is basically redundant. Also I have cut an extra fan hole for the radiator shown in my picture.

PSU fan isn't redundent. It directs force air around components that need it. Definitely never downgrade a PSU's cooling or you may have major issues.

I would just have your radiator fans suck air into the case. Leave the PSU as is. Remove the two 56CFM fans. The way you mound them... you probably get less than 40CFM from them. Might as well let the main rad fans do the push and not let those other fans constrict airflow. You would get more performance and slightly less noise.
