Watercooling block for the 8800GTX - Page 2

If all your going to use it for is the GPU only, something like this would work fine...

Pump

...D-Tek dB-1 Pump

Rad

...BIP 240

Block...This will keep the ram heat out of your loop...

...Swiftech MCW60-R Retail VGA Waterblock with Nvidia 8800 G80 Adapter Kit

Fans...Stick a shroud on it to...

...Panaflo FBA12G12M1J 120mm High Speed Fan 86.5CFM 35.5dBA

This wont lower your room ambients but you should be able to OC it higher...

Thread Starter
I dint really wanted to spend more then 300 CAD, and now that I've noticed that the reason why my room was so hot is because my freaking AC isn't actually cooling the room, its just pushing air around I'll now have to buy a new one so yah even less money to spend on that . A hot system + defect AC + small room + temperature like today (you know what I'm talking about Apollo4g you live in Montreal too ) = too damn hot!

I guess I'll have to invest in a functional AC before investing in a WC option .
Appreciate the answer tho!

I have to agree with Ira-k about the swiftech mcw60r. I use that cooler on my bfg8800gtxoc2 with idle temps at 36C and 44C loaded. This is all good but the temps will depend on the type of setup you are using.

I think what Ira suggests is probrobly your best bet.

Don't forget to use some fan shrouds. And read the posts about cleaning your new setup and parts and how to setup a shroud.....Ira-k can link you to them as he wrote some of the threads if all of them...

Be carefull what you buy this is my second cooler I now have a $100 koolance full card cooler paper wait.
The $45 mcw60r is better

Bad choice with the Koolance....

My EK keeps my OC'ed 8800GTS 640MB 670/2040 at 38Cidle and 43 Load,
NOTE: in my GPU loop i have also both MOSFETS and a NB cooler, so thats
4 blocks in one loop and these temps.

My vote goes towards the MCW60, it's one heck of a performer...31C load temps works for me...
