From one minority (apple) to another AMD!

Hello.
Well after only using Macs my whole life I finally cracked. 2 laptops in as many years were taken back and forth from the service centre until I just wish Steve Jobbs would die.
Although its not his fault
Poor quality and service drove me to the PC.

Just a few days ago I built the system in my sig in an afternoon.

I was very pleased with how simple it was even with vista disputes.

I have not overclocked yet as I have just the stock cooling but am very interested in trying it especially the graphics side of things.

Love the forum and happy to be here.
My girlfriend finds it all painfully dull

Don't expect much of an overclock out of that 6000+. 3 GHz is about all you can physically get out of K8 architecture, but some have gotten to maybe 3.3 or so on good cooling.

That's one heck of a rig! Welcome to the forum, and thanks for filling out your User CP without us having to tell you to

Thanks
Yes Im very happy with it, cost around £900 which comming from a mac background is very good for what it can do.

I did have a quick go at overclocking the CPU with the mobo options, I got 3.3 stable but with temps around 60 62.

I think with a new cooler I will be able to keep it at that

yeah, I believe the best Mac GPU is still only a ATI X1950? You easily double that performance.
Once again...

Thanks man
Jesus look at your computer! The 3d06 mark is crazy!!
Would be nice to have a pic of our comps in the system info

you can add pics of your system in your profile. If you look under my name, towards the bottom, under the REP+ button, you see a camera, click on that, that will show you some of my pics of my system.
