You are very close, few things you need to do.
1. Use this command to install the 32bit drivers, the folding cores are 64bit, but the client is 32bit.
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
You dont need the sudo if you are logged in as root, otherwise, use the sudo at the begining.
2. To launch the client use this command, the one you are using is the core itself, rather than the client that controls the cores.
./fah5 -local -forceasm
The -local is just a good habit to get used to using when folding. And although I think -forceasm is hardcoded now into SMP, I do it as a habit as well.
EDIT: Did you mean to download the single core client, or did you want the SMP client. Your rig would support the SMP client well, and you can download it using this command: wget http://folding.stanford.edu/release/FAH_SMP_Linux.tgz
