I do not have any of that grese stuff to put on my CPU and the stock CPU fan was not installing properly. COuld it have to do anything with that
That's the problem, you need to get it situated for maximum contact. basically right now you don't have a cooler on your cpu. And without one, even the lowest power cpus will overheat. You need to situate it properly.

That's because of the heat. Get everything set in place, and if you need to, find a house fan or something and blow it in there. Then see if it stays on. Or go at it with a thermometer lol.

Anytime, btw, if you're using stock cooling, i'd highly suggest buying a new cooler. That's if you've got the money.

I'll be giving you your first rep because I learned quite a bit about that motherboard. I'll be buying one real soon.

This review on newegg kinda lead me onto your problem:

Pros: Very good stats on paper. Installation was a breeze.

Cons: Worked for 12 hours before it died with a BIOS ROM checksum failure. After RMA replacement, second board never started up. Manual has no troubleshooting section. Website offers little help. There are no error indicators in board (be they beeps or lights).

Other Thoughts: It sounded like a good board, but my experience with XFX products has not been a very good one so far.
