Vista 64 bit taking extremely long to install - Page 2

Sorry but I dont have that mobo so all I can really do is recommend that you read the mobo manual very well.

I am wondering if you are deciding to setup a raid since you ahve two hdd's or just want to install it on a single drive. If you are trying to go raid you need to have riad enabled on your mobo. If you are not then I believe you need it set to IDE.

It should explain this in your mobo manual if you have one. As far as the beeping that usually indicates something is wrong.

If you are geting to the activation part you must be doing something right or you wouldnt be that far. It may be something liek your keyboard isnt working with your mobo correctly or you need to enable usb support or some thing like that.

Anyways try looking up for what the beeping stands for for your mobo. Usually a forum for that manufacturer will have some clues as to what they stand for.

Or call tech support and see if they can tell you.

So it installed Vista now I guess I was being paranoid + impatient. It's checking the performance now. It looks pretty.

Now to the overclocking. ACtually maybe tomorrow. Let it rest today. The fan is blow full speed and making a lot of noise right now.

Well thanks a lot I guess, the beeping hasn't gone. But I'm IE7 so you're probably i'm doing something right!

Look to the back of the manual, all the main manufacturers include the bios codes at the end.

Also I never had any problems installing vista 64 with 4GB of ram, so that's strange that some people get errors and not others.

When you first install Vista, it will take a while. Mine does the same

Actually I didn't say it didn't install with 4GB of ram, I paniced, and removed 2GB. It could have gone into install.
